POSITION: Long-Term Substitute Grades 5 & 6 Visual Arts Teacher

The Shrewsbury Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher for Grades 5 & 6 for a six-week leave of absence. The position pays $280 per day. Please apply early if you’re interested, as applicant packets will be reviewed as received.

About Us:
The Sherwood Middle School community serves approximately 930 students in grades five and six. Sherwood Middle School has a 1:1 iPad program for all students and uses Schoology as a learning management system.
The mission of Sherwood Middle School is:
· To provide a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment in which the entire learning community addresses the unique developmental needs of 5th and 6th grade students.
· To encourage students to reach their academic, artistic, social, emotional, and physical potential.
· To prepare students to be productive citizens both in and out of school.

Preferred Qualifications include:
- Provisional, Initial or Professional Licensure in Visual Arts, either PreK-8 or 5-12.
- Excellent communication skills with parents/caretakers and colleagues
- Demonstrates the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools and Sherwood Middle School
- Strong knowledge of middle school student needs and programming
- Works flexibly in a changing school environment
