Job Overview

Shriners Children's is seeking a Full-time Appointment Coordinator to support a busy multidisciplinary PT, OT, Speech Therapy Department.  This position will accurately schedule appointments, enter data into computerized appointment system, answer phones, and direct calls as needed.  Schedulers will have the basic scheduling competencies to follow established Best Practices and be able to perform specific duties to an assigned area,  Appointment scheduling , computer skills, and medical terminology required.

Registers patients for outpatient, and/or in patient services.  Ensures accurate patient information is entered into computer and routes printed information to designated department.  Professionalism and responsive communication with physicians, patients/families, and other departments is required .  Being a self-starter, motivated, courteous, following patient privacy and HIPAA guidelines are all fundamentals of this position.

 

Schedule: Full-time M-F (in-person) FTE 1.0

Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling & rescheduling , creating ad-hoc appointments, check in & check-out and changing appointment statuses for the Rehab Department.
  • Registration, updating, quick/trauma admit, discharge and downtime conversion.
  • Utilizing Power Chart for additional information when needed, orders matrix and patient schedule tab.
  • Cross trained to ensure relief for other scheduling positions as assigned.
  • Prepares and completes medical record review to include analysis, documentation, and physician order completion.
  • Receives, assesses and routes telephone calls.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED, Preferred

Experience

  • 1 Year Scheduling,registration and insurance verification, Preferred
  • 1 Year Medical Secretary, Preferred

 

 

(Pay range for this position is $16.92/hr - $25.38/hr. The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.

Salary : $17 - $25
