Job Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant assists in cast application and removal, rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record. The Medical Assistant works with and under the direction of the RN.
Schedule: Part-time M-F (in-person) FTE 0.50
Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year
Compensation range: Pay range for this position is $16.92/hr - $25.38/hr. The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.
- Demonstrates skills necessary to assist with casting, splinting, and dressing application, removal and cleaning.
- Safely removes casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care.
- Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies
- Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed

Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma / GED preferred
Certification/Licensure
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 3 months of hire
Experience
Outpatient Clinic, Orthopaedic and cast background preferred.
Compensation
Compensation for this position is based upon experience and department equity, but ranges from $16.92 - $25.38
Salary : $17 - $25
