The HIM Clerk performs various HIM functions and responsibilities including processing information for continuity of care, retrieving records from all treatment area, prepping and scanning records into SHCIS, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Chart Processing, performs all clerical tasks related to preparation and follow up for Outreach Clinics.
- Prep, validate and scan paper medical record documents into SHCIS.
- Meets established accuracy standards for chart processing.
- Assists in processing internal and external ROI requests as needed.
- Ensures authorizations for release of health information are HIPAA compliant and releases patient information in accordance with minimum necessary guidelines.
- Assists in answering department calls and routes to appropriate area.
- Responding to customer queries in a timely and accurate way,via phone, email or fax.
