Job Overview
The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for oversight of Point of Care laboratory procedures in collaboration with the Laboratory Medical Director. Also acts as liaison to evaluate other contracted laboratory services related to monitoring of testing and responsible for result management. Duties are performed independently and/or with minimal direction by management. Participates in development of standard operating procedures and administrative functions.
Schedule: Full-time FTE 1.0
Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year
Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Assists in monitoring and documenting laboratory results into the Shrine System.
- Performs and documents preventative maintenance and function checks for PC equipment and assures proper operation of instrumentation.
- Participates in laboratory charge reconciliation
- Performs a variety of comprehensive registration and scheduling functions
- Demonstrate open, accurate and timely communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic interventions

Qualifications
Degree/Diploma:
Bachelor in Medical Technology Preferred
Master's in Medical Technology Preferred
Certification and Licensures:
Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) Preffered
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Preferred
At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
