Shriners Children’s is looking for a PRN Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children’s Portland. This provider will assist in the management of pediatric patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions in the inpatient setting.
Providers will be expected to provide a minimum of 1 weekend shift per month (preferably 2), 7:00am to 5:00pm.

The pay range for this position is $62.96 to $94.44/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to patients under the direction of the Chief of Staff and other attending physicians
- Enter post-op orders
- Enter perioperative documentation
- Manage post-op patients on the Inpatient Unit
- Prescribe medications pursuant to the Oregon laws and regulations under the direction of supervising physician
- Perform initial and admitting history and physical and formulate treatment plan (outpatient)
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
- NCCPA board certification required
- Active Oregon Physician Assistant license required
- Active DEA license required
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
- Experience in managing pediatric patients in the inpatient or outpatient settings is required. Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings would be ideal but not required.
- Teaching and training skills, and demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate direct patient care is required
- Proficient computer skills with experience with Epic EHR preferred
