Job Overview
Shriners Children’s, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a Surgical Tech to join our team.
Responsibilities
Scrubs for operative procedures in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), creates and maintains a sterile field, possesses expertise in: sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures. Performs sponge, sharp, and instrument counts. Demonstrates knowledge of orthopedic procedures and instrumentation required. Checks orders and restocks surgical implant inventory. Performs Central Sterile tech duties as assigned. Applies principles of professional practice model FOCUSED to ASC setting.
- Sets up sterile field quickly and quietly
- Assists surgeon and residents with draping
- Performs preventative maintenance of drills
- Checks and replaces from stock orthopedic implants
