Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We currently have an opening for a Sonographer Ultrasound Tech to join our team. This position must be able to utilize ultrasound equipment to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data, using ultrasound equipment to aid the physician in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Demonstrates the ability to meet the needs and provide service to the pediatric population. Competent in providing services for the culturally diverse population that Shriners Children's serves.
Responsibilities
Maintains and monitors quality assessment practices and procedures to ensure appropriate and proper patient care• Accurately interprets oral and written requests stated in radiologic and medical terms• Notifies imaging Manager of equipment malfunction and obtains necessary repairs. Performs other operational functions, in support of assigned department to ensure quality services• Assists in maintaining imaging files to ensure easy irretrievability in a timely manner.• Assists in the preparation of images for interpretation and imaging reports for image file jackets. Process• Performs radiological services to hospital standards including X-rays and Ultrasounds.• Repeat analysis is kept at or below 5%. Note: This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications
Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- American Registry of Doagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months of hire date
Preferred
- 1 year of pediatric abdominal ultrasound experience
