Job Overview
Pharmacist properly checks, prepares, and distributes medications, and ensures proper control measures of medication and medication storage areas.
Compensation for the position ranges from $64 - $84 per hour, and is based upon experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
- Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice.
- Receive prescriptions and medication orders from providers
- Check medication orders for proper dosing, contraindications, interactions
- Prepares, fills, and dispenses medications based upon physician orders
- Assesses the appropriateness of medications prescribed, monitors medication effects on the patient and provides drug information to hospital and medical staff
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in planning, developing, coordinating and controlling pharmacy department functions and in training, supervising and evaluating pharmacy support personnel
