Job Overview The Motion Analysis Center Physical Therapist conducts comprehensive physical therapy evaluations incorporating 3D Instrumented Gait Analysis in the assessment of pediatric patients with complex movement difficulties. In this position, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice professionals and engineers in developing evidence-based treatment plans, documenting treatment outcomes, and planning ongoing monitoring and care to meet the needs of patients and caregivers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examination of the patient including history/systems review, physical examination, selection and administration of special tests and outcome measures
- Collection of motion capture data, EMG, pedobarograph, and video in partnership with engineering teammates
- Interpretation of collected data and generation of physical therapy report
- Provision of patient and family education about motion analysis procedures and how data may help guide their child’s care
- Participation in multidisciplinary patient reviews to determine individualized treatment plans
- Participation in ongoing professional education, training, and development to expand knowledge
- Participation in ongoing system-wide research projects
- Collaborates with the medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design an individualized treatment plan to meet the needs of the pediatric patient and their family.
- Conducts interdisciplinary team meetings to review MAC findings, interpretations and recommendations.
- Mentors and educates to residents, students and other professionals.
- Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research.
- Maintains current knowledge in changes related to the scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.
- Works in collaboration with the SMAC PT and local leaders, to provide exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED©™ Program. This program is a system-wide model for professional practice that emphasizes patient-centered care and always prioritizes the needs of patients and their families.
- CA Physical Therapist licensure
- CPR/BLS certification
- Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy
- 1 years of Motion Lab experience
- Pediatric experience
- MS/DPT
