SHRM is seeking a creative and detail-driven content specialist to support the development and execution of the daily newsletter, HR Daily, and its weekly podcast, Honest HR. In collaboration with the Lead, B2C Content, and other key stakeholder, this role helps shape the voice of SHRM’s audience-facing platforms through smart storytelling, multimedia production, and audience-focused content strategies.

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. Responsibilities
- Content Development: Support the planning and execution of content strategies to captivate targeted B2C audiences, including the creation of articles, videos, and podcasts.
- Production & Editorial: Assist in the development, creation, scheduling, and editing of diverse content formats, maintaining high standards of quality and brand alignment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to align with SHRM’s strategic priorities, review audience data, and understand the specific needs and feedback from the audiences.
- Project Coordination: Help manage content project timelines, coordinate tasks with external and internal teams, and track budget expenditures.
- Content Innovation: Engage in the research and brainstorming processes to contribute fresh ideas for compelling content that highlights industry trends and professional insights.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry changes, SHRM research, professional development, and global events to recommend content strategy enhancements and the adoption of new media technologies.
- Network Development: Assist in building relationships with industry experts and key stakeholders to access exclusive insights and information.
- Performance Tracking: Support the evaluation of content performance, utilizing data to propose methods for increasing engagement and expanding reach.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as needed to support the team's goals.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience and training may also be considered.
- At least two (2) years of experience in content creation, ideally for a business audience.
- Experience with digital media, including SEO, email marketing, and content management systems (Marketo/Adobe Experience Manager a plus).
- Solid understanding of content marketing and audience engagement strategies.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, capable of crafting engaging and clear narratives for diverse audiences.
- Analytical ability to simplify complex information into relatable and engaging content.
- Proficiency in digital media tools, storytelling techniques, and content management systems.
- Awareness of the HR industry’s major issues and trends, with the skill to convert complex topics into understandable content.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Strong collaborative skills, able to build relationships and work effectively with various stakeholders.
