Job Description:

Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW. Transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, scrap metals, debris, or Heavy Mobile Equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Active Class “A” Commercial Driver's License.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with a Class A License.
  • (Side Dump, Belly Dump, End Dump, Flat-bed, Lowboy, Tanker)
  • Must keep a satisfactory driving record and provide consent to company for review of driving record(s).
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years (REQUIRED).
  • Must register with FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide consent to company for review of clearinghouse records.
  • Pass a Drug/Alcohol Test (REQUIRED)
  • Active CDL Endorsements:
    • Hazardous Materials and/or Tank Vehicle (Preferred)
    • Double/Triple Trailers (Required)

Job Description:

  • Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes.
  • Experience with loading equipment and ensuring it is properly loaded and secure according to safety requirements.
  • Communicate with Dispatcher and other Truck Drivers using communication devices such as a two-ways radio.
  • Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Report any problems to your manager.
  • Perform daily pre & post- trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
  • Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions.
  • Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs as required.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
  • Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition.
  • When working with co-workers, constant eye contact will be maintained when backing, communicating using hand signals or other movements.
  • Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
  • Follow, maintain, and adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing PPE as required.
  • Ability to operate, load, and unload parts, materials & small equipment safely and efficiently by operating a forklift and/or loader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements Include

  • Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50-65 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to grip the steering wheel for extended periods of time.
  • Able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment. Including, but not limited to, the following: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, and task applicable gloves.
  • Meet all conditions of drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pass pre-employment and random drug screen and alcohol test.
