Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials within our facility, ensuring that products are loaded, unloaded, and moved safely and effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience with various materials handling equipment and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Duties
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations
- Pick orders ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Build pallets for storage or transport, ensuring proper stacking techniques to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections on equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in materials handling or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other materials handling equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
