Overview
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Chemical Applications Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, operating and troubleshooting the entire high-speed chemical applications line. This position will service the machine with chemicals, pack, box, and palletize the finished product.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Unload slit rolls from Gaylord box and inspect for correct slit edge quality and contamination
- Feeds tape into lanes stacked evenly
- Change over all stations on machine, adjust rails and bars according to the accurate diameter
- Verify Bill of Material and confirm proper supplies are being used and the ticket matches
- Keep QA camera station cleared of all reject rolls
- Verify powder filled in the cups and bins
- Clear jams in stations
- Inspect product as it comes off the line before packing into boxes
- Accurately thread top and bottom labelers
- Load canisters and lids in respective stations at rate to match machine thru-put
- Pack canister into specified box or display carton
- Apply labels to canisters and lids as necessary (if missed on machine)
- Assist in continuous improvement process
- Assist in training new associates
- Perform daily cleaning responsibilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform data-entry on SAP Computer System
- Familiar with company philosophy, procedures, practices, manufacturing environment and equipment
- Possess strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Constantly standing, walking and repetitive hand motion (2/3 to Full Day)
- Occasionally typing, sitting, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds (1/3 of day)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a manufacturing production environment.
- High noise levels in certain parts of the plant
- Required proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
