WHAT DOES A LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR DO?
Augment a well-established team as a Linux Systems Administrator. This is a collaborative team environment that entails frequent interaction with customers. This is a fast-paced team so a willingness to take on challenges to creatively solve customer requirement problems will be required. WOULD YOU BE A GREAT LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR?
The Linux System Admin will work on a fast-paced team of system administrators providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems for critical enterprise applications. The selected candidate will need to manage IT system infrastructure, and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client, server, storage, network devices, etc.
Additionally, the Linux System Admin will provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
Requirements
- Active TS / SCI with required Polygraph at time of application
- A bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience as a system administrator on programs of similar scope and complexity is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree fifteen (15) years of experience required.
- In depth Linux experience.
- Familiarity with PowerShell and Bash scripting languages.
- Experience with system hardening.
- Experience working with ISSOs for system compliance.
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I is required.
