As Engineering Manager Project Development , you will play an instrumental role in guiding the evolution of Capital and Sustaining Capital Projects from idea generation to execution phases. Through your critical thinking, project definition, and sound solution development practices, you will work both internally with Sibelco's Operations and Projects teams, as well as externally with consulting design houses to scope, assess and implement robust and well-designed projects to meet our growing business' needs.

Responsibilities
- Successfully identify, define, and resolve complex project issues, by developing solutions to meet business and production objectives.
- Manage the phases of engineering project delivery from idea-generation and project initiation, to concept evaluation and pre-feasibility level engineering, to feasibility and definitive design level work, in order to enable investment decision making and progress projects within Sibelco's project management framework.
- Identify and implement value improvement practices at each stage of engineering development and project delivery.
- Manage external engineering consultancies to complete required deliverables for each phase of project development.
- Identify and ensure project and design risk is adequately managed and communicated to key stakeholders and leadership.
- Monitor and report project progress and assess issues, to ensure productivity and quality levels are in line with project timelines and expectations.
- Manage scope creep, change requests and project trends, in relation to engineering budgets to ensure cost and schedule is properly analyzed and forecast.
- Interface with technical, project controls, and procurement teams to review, establish, and hand-over the execution phases of approved and finalised projects.
- Provide safety leadership through setting safety culture and expectations, be a steward for safety in design, and spend time in the field with frontline employees and engineers.
