Bill Rate: $65/hr on C2C

Job Overview:

OneMain Financial is seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to support mainframe applications in a batch and real-time environment. This role involves development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of COBOL, JCL, and DB2-based systems, along with API development and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

• Participate in development activities, including working with offshore resources.

• Conduct technical walkthroughs with stakeholders.

• Support system testing and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Provide emergency bug fixes and handle change requests.

• Ensure batch processes run smoothly and fix any abnormal ends (ABENDs) within strict SLAs.

• Maintain technical documentation and design specifications.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of experience in IBM Mainframe environments.

• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

• Experience in API development and working in batch & real-time environments.

• Ability to problem-solve, code, test, and deploy fixes efficiently.

• Technical documentation and design writing experience.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience with production support and troubleshooting batch job failures.

• Familiarity with IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets.
