Job Description:
You should have strong fundamentals of Database Administration, Data/Software Engineering, DevOps, and hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Design and build Microsoft SQL Server in datacenters and Azure, including build and configuration automation, security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and maintenance
• Design and implement intelligent, predictable, reliable, scalable, cost-efficient, and easy-to-use platforms and frameworks for Data Science Machine Learning (DSML), Enterprise Data Lake/Warehouse (EDL/EDW), Master Data Management (MDM) functions
• Design, implement, maintain cloud platform infrastructure
• Evaluate and automate the scaling and capacity requirements within Azure environment
• Implement Azure cloud capabilities including but not limited to storage, key vaults, virtual networking, virtual machines, and automated deployments
• Implement, setup, configure, monitor, and maintain cloud based Data & Analytics platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake. Troubleshoot and resolve environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues
• Make recommendations and execute cost saving strategies for Cloud services
• Self-directed and able to balance the priorities of multiple teams, systems, and products with a leadership mindset
• Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
• Streamline development and operation processes via continuous integration, deployment, automated testing while leveraging SRE principles
• Drive efficient resolution for system outages as well as performance and functional shortcomings. Engage in critical support situations and effectively, efficiently, and quickly drive successful resolution
• Design and implement solutions that leverage cloud services such as serverless computing, containers, and data lakes.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 7 years with Microsoft SQL Server (2016-2022) in an enterprise-level environment, including setup, security, monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning
• 5 years Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
• 5 years Cloud Platform Engineering experience in an enterprise-level environment
• Advanced proficiency with Python, SQL, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Bicep/Terraform, PowerShell is required. Deep understanding and hands on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management automation tools is required
• 5 years of DevOps experience with a clear understanding of related tools, structure, and processes working in an Agile/Scrum setting
• 3 years leading the end-to-end design and development of scalable services to be consumed by the enterprise, including monitoring and production support
