About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced Senior DataStage ETL Engineer to join a dynamic team within the banking industry. As a senior member, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining ETL jobs, designing efficient database architectures, and optimizing SQL performance. You will collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to ensure that data pipelines are robust, scalable, and meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ETL jobs using IBM DataStage (versions 9.1 - 11.5) to load data into the data warehouse.
- Enhance legacy platforms with scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Design efficient database structures including tables, data types, stored procedures, functions, and more.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server service outages and performance issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts to understand and meet business requirements.
- Optimize database code for readability, reliability, and performance.
- Advise on best practices for clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, and more.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience working for U.S. companies within the United States.
- 4 years of recent experience at a major bank (since 2017).
- 7 years of experience with IBM DataStage (versions 9.1 - 11.5).
- 5 years of experience with ETL using DataStage.
- Proficient in creating, enhancing, and supporting multiple data pipelines.
- Experience with RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Vertica) for at least 5 years.
- Strong SQL skills including coding procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Proficient in writing complex mapping, operational scripts, and triggers for data integration.
- 2 years of experience with agile development practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly discuss development needs and recommended approaches.
