Job Title: Release Train Engineer (RTE)
Location: Hybrid 3 days every other week (6 days a month) onsite in Bolingbrook, IL
Duration: 12 months Contract

Job Description: Looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) that will working with marketing technology teams. The candidate we are looking for will understand Adobe Personalization or similar platforms.
The RTE’s role is to ensure alignment and smooth execution of work across multiple teams within a value stream. This person will effectively manage and prioritize work, address dependencies, and ensure that cross-functional teams (e.g., development, design, and marketing) can collaborate efficiently.
- Manage the Agile Release Train across the marketing technology teams
- Coordinate activities towards common release plans within the program increment
- Oversee and coach teams to consistently deliver value
- Manage the Program Increment calendar and release management lifecycle
- Identify and manage risks to PI Planning and the ART
- Aligning multiple teams (including marketing, engineering, and data teams) working on the Adobe Personalization platform.
- Facilitate ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Demos, Release Planning, and Inspect and Adapt
- Execute PI Planning events and planning activities leading up to PI Planning
- Support teams in implementing Adobe Personalization features and integrations, ensuring that personalization initiatives align with overall marketing strategies and business outcomes.
- Drive continual improvements with PI Planning and ART management
- Reporting of key metrics related to the ART
- Coach high performing teams in Scaled Agile practices
- Strengthen team’s understanding of Agile/Scrum/Scaled Agile concepts and principles
- Ensure teams actions are aligned with the project goals/vision
- Ensure Scaled Agile practices are used and improved within and across the teams
- Bring transparency and trust to Business & IT organization about development
- Identify trade-offs between short- and long-term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner
- Foster a continuous learning environment helping teams to inspect and adapt
- Facilitate cross-team events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value while managing risk, stakeholder communications and escalations
- Collaborate with Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters for consistent adoption and effectiveness of Agile across the organization
- Facilitate meetings across multiple teams as needed to coordinate cross team planning, dependencies, and deliverables
- Coordination of demos to achieve effective feedback and communication
- Identify impediments and cross-team dependencies and support the team in eliminating and addressing the issues and distractions
- Help coach stakeholders and non-agile teams on agile/non-agile team interactions
- Help teams adopt and practice Agile core values, principles and implement Agile practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8 years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum preferred
- 4 years experience as a Release Train Engineer in an Enterprise IT environment
- 4 years leading and facilitating Program Increment planning in an Enterprise IT environment
- Experience working with marketing technology platforms, with a strong focus on Adobe Personalization, Adobe Experience Cloud, or similar marketing automation/analytics tools.
- In-depth knowledge of scrum, kanban, SAFe, LeSS and other Scaled Agile practices.
- Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or Scrum Coach (CSC) certificates preferred
- Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer preferred
- Skilled in utilizing JIRA to track and manage the work
- In-depth knowledge about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching Scrum and Kanban teams
- Delivery or software development background
- Domain-specific technical knowledge to remove blockers
- Strong communication skills - able to propagate information promptly, clearly and unambiguously
- Excellent problem-solving, organization and analytical skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a team
- Skilled in building relationships and navigating through organizations
- High level of personal ownership; willing to understand what is being built so that they can impact the ultimate delivery of the team’s products and be held accountable for the team’s on-time delivery
