As an SQL Developer, you will be responsible for developing and coding IT solutions, focusing on enabling Florida Blue Customer Experience applications. Key responsibilities include documenting systems, conducting unit tests, performing peer code reviews, and maintaining internally developed applications. The role also involves evaluating and performance testing purchased products while ensuring IT controls to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and code IT solutions using Python and SQL.
- Perform unit testing, peer reviews, and system documentation.
- Process and analyze large data sets (millions of records).
- Protect application and data integrity through robust IT controls.
- Build and schedule batch processes using Python.
- Develop REST APIs and work with RESTful architecture.
- Maintain flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
- Collaborate within a team and work independently when necessary.
- Technical curiosity to understand processes, data flows, and new tools.
- High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and propose solutions.
- Experience with scheduling and batch file processing.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies is a plus.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of professional experience in technical design and coding in the IT industry.
- Advanced SQL scripting/querying expertise.
- Strong UNIX/Linux shell scripting skills.
- Experience working with PySpark in Hadoop environments.
- Domain experience in healthcare, finance, or similar industries.
- Experience with various methodologies and tools such as Agile or hybrid models.
