Day to Day Objectives / Responsibilities:
General USB - Job Description Below
Work within the Android Platform or Android System and help with developing or debugging bug fixing of the USB stack, on Android and extensions we have added
Rich Eco System
Video Bar all in one device
A lot of peripherals that we plug into these devices to add functionality, audio/video
Devs will interface with the devices and debugging and programming port
USB is important and some devices support being updated through USB
A lot of USB Driver Dev - talking to USB chip
Level above the driver level are the protocols - in the JD we called out a few
Hands-on experience implementing HID (Human Interface Device), UVC and UAC protocols Experience with REST over HID communications
Messages and protocols that we are sending over this connection, need to be able to extend and debug.
Different than Driver Development
If they have done this in Linux and not Android those skills would be transferrable
Building protocols within USB are multiplatform.
Technical Skills (Must Have s / Nice to Have s):
Moderate experience with Android system-level development
Solid understanding of low-level hardware interactions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Android AOSP (Android Open Source Project)
Knowledge of Linux kernel USB subsystems
Background in embedded systems development
Experience with Bluetooth or other wireless protocols
