Job Description
· Sickles Market wants to ensure that all of our customers are receiving the best shopping experience each time they walk into our store. The Deli Counter Clerk is an integral part of the Sickles Market experience. As a Deli Team Member, you will be providing exceptional customer service while supplying and replenishing a wide variety of deli products.
· In addition, the Deli Team Member is responsible for cleaning, set-up, preparing, organizing, and assisting with daily functions for the Deli Department. Team Members work closely with Department Managers and Supervisors to obtain information, identify needs, and help resolve problems. Seeks to continuously improve service and product quality. Ensures that the Company's professional reputation is maintained and that superior customer service is provided. The following are role and responsibilities of the Deli Clerk position:
Department Responsibilities
· Proactively assist customers within the guidelines outlined in our Customer Service Standards.
· Effectively work any station on the service counter (hot case, cold case, sandwich station), and any shift (opening, mid, closing).
· Set-up cold case and then reset/refresh
· Effectively portion, present, and package merchandise according to customers’ requests and in a way that minimizes shrink and maximizes sales.
· Develop and maintain an understanding of the products you are selling/serving.
· Maintain a clean, appealing and sanitary work area in accordance with Health Department regulations.
· Operate and sanitize all Deli equipment in a safe and proper manner.
· Follow portion guidelines, and properly record all samples, demo product, and waste.
· Preserve an open level of communication and cooperation with all Kitchen staff, and ask for assistance on the Counter when necessary.
Qualifications
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
· Continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced work environment
· Frequent motions such as standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting, and reaching
· Lifting: use of upper body and back muscles to lift objects
· Reaching: extending hands and or arms in any direction
· Physical Strength: lifting up to 50lbs. and pushing and pulling carts up to 100lbs.
· Exposure to various food allergens throughout the store
