Description
Summary
The Installer will perform vehicle outfitting and up-fitting services which include installation and removal of equipment, which includes, but not limited to, the following: Lightbars, sirens, speakers, consoles, laptop mounts, push bumpers LED lights, antennas, video cameras, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installing, testing, repairing, and removing 12-volt law enforcement vehicle equipment.
- Remove and re-install OEM vehicle interior trim Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment.
- Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle for the most efficient wiring path and enable future replacement and/or troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary Dis-assemble and reassembly of a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
- Maintain clean/safe work areas, cleanliness of tool and ensure proper tool storage, for both personal and company owned.
- Maintain neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
- Will also be responsible for assisting in the installation of custom components for emergency vehicles.
- Provide Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s) with accurate estimated labor times.
- Provide Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s) with complete parts needed list.
- Participate in quality check process with Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s).
- Understanding of productivity goals and review for areas in need of improvement.
Qualifications
- The Installer must be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to set and reach performance goals set forth by the owner/operator.
- Experience within Fire and Emergency related industry a plus.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Exceptional organizational methods (Work area, Safety, Tool & Equipment Organization)
- Dedication to customer service and business success
- Ability to engage in and maintain positive relationships with employees and customers
- Computer skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook Email, Microsoft Word & Excel programs as well with any company provided software
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Drivers License
- Minimum 1 year of automotive wiring or related experience.
