Job Title: Side by Side Kids – Assistant Program Coordinator (Part-Time)
Purpose of the Position: The Assistant Program Coordinator is responsible for helping the Program Coordinator oversee and manage daily operations of the SBSK afterschool program at an assigned elementary school, while also engaging parents, families, and members of the surrounding community

Purpose of the Position: The Assistant Program Coordinator is responsible for helping the Program Coordinator oversee and manage daily operations of the SBSK afterschool program at an assigned elementary school, while also engaging parents, families, and members of the surrounding community
Job Summary
- Communicate with Program Coordinator to determine scope of work and prioritize tasks
- Prepare supplies and materials to fulfill daily programming needs
- Asses and maintain inventory of programming supplies and/or equipment
- Ensure that all AISD facilities are properly maintained to the highest standards as set by AISD classroom teacher
- Welcome and champion the Youth Development Leaders on campus
- Assist in communicating crucial pieces of programming information that may affect daily operations
- Lead and facilitate the pre and post programming meetings, as assigned by Program Coordinator
- Actively listen to staff feedback and work with the Program Coordinator to provide sound wisdom and solutions
- Address any campus needs or concerns and work with SBSK staff to quickly problem solve
- Make proactive decisions that will best support and encourage all program staff
- Provide assistant to any SBSK classroom that is in need of additional staff and/or attention
- Prepare and facilitate large group activities and games, as needed
- Act as a substitute teacher for any Youth Development Leader
- Follow and support the discipline system utilized by the SBSK Afterschool Program
- Follow and support SBSK Emergency Procedures established by the SBSK Afterschool Program
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect of SBSK program students to a supervisor and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
- Supervise children after 6pm and contact parents or authorized pick-up family members
- Communicate with parents and family members regarding their child’s participation in the program
- Attend a CPR and First Aid training, requested and paid for by SBSK
- Assist organizing and maintaining all student records
- Assist in the collection and gathering of program data
- All other duties as assigned
Work Site: Assigned elementary school on behalf of Side by Side Kids.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience working with children and/or youth in a school setting, afterschool program, or mentoring program
- Ability to move around a classroom with ease and be accessible to all students
- Ability to bend, reach, or stretch for supplies and other various objects, as well as lift or carry at least 40 pounds
- Love for working with children and leading them in Christ-like behavior
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Experience in leading and managing teams with diverse backgrounds and needs
- Ability to guide program staff in daily operations as well as classroom management and teaching techniques
- High level of professionalism
- High standard of organizational methodologies
- Execute sound judgement when problem solving or making decisions
- Ability to give constructive feedback as well as receive
- Teachable and willingness to adapt and learn
- High School diploma, GED, or higher level of education required
- Be a Christ-follower and communing member of the body of Christ

- Understand, agree with, and be comfortable teaching a Christ-centered curriculum that communicates the Gospel on a daily basis
- Reliable transportation to program site
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
