Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage – and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services – Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties – Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa – across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION
This position has a full-time salary range of $120,000 to $135,000.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The North Bay Regional Director exercises management responsibility for overall functioning and performance of the organization relating to clinical program, and public policy activities. Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the organization in support of mission, policies, goals, and objectives established by the CEO and the Board of Directors.
The North Bay Regional Director directs and manages the implementation of the operating and program plan to meet the short and long-term objectives of Side by Side. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the North Bay Regional Director functions as an Agency officer in external relations with major public stakeholders. The North Bay Regional Director is responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation and maintenance of an operational program infrastructure for achieving the organization’s objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
Strategic and Annual Planning
- Collaborate with the Director of Practice and Program Development (DPPD), in the formulation and development of the long-term vision and business development strategic plans (i.e., business plan and long-range forecasts).
- Manage the development and implementation of the annual operating and program plan to ensure that the operating strategies and tactics necessary to support the organization’s mission are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with the DPPD in the development of the annual review, analysis, and reporting of the organization’s strategic plans, implementation progress, and achievements for the CEO, Board of Directors, and management and staff.
- Regularly perform an analysis of operational performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
Finance and Administration
- Work with the CFO to develop, communicate and execute financial strategies to achieve business development, operational, and financial goals of the organization.
- Work with the CFO Services to ensure program directors maintain appropriate internal controls, environments, systems, and policies and procedures to ensure resources are strategically leveraged to support the organization’s mission.
- Maintain effective communication and budget management processes with department managers to focus on revenue attainment and/or cost containment.
- With the CFO, prepare integrated operational and financial analysis reports for the CEO and to track and report the effective and efficient deployment of resources in support of the objectives of the organization.
- With the CFO, perform yearly analyses to examine operational efficiency and recommend improvements to improve the cost effectiveness of service delivery.
Administration and Leadership
- Through policies, through establishment of standards, and by example, foster an environment of learning, teamwork, and cooperation throughout the organization.
- Consistent implementation of Key Performance Indicators to insure the highest quality of clinical and support services and promote a climate of continuous improvement and learning.
- Develop the operational infrastructure for supporting quality and effective service delivery to our clients and payers.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to direct reports.
- Manage the annual planning for departments, updating strategic plans and coordinating programming and administrative plans to ensure short and long-term objectives are met.
- Develop systems, policies, and processes needed to manage the organization’s current activities and its projected growth.
- Act with authority and responsibility on behalf of the CEO as may be required.
Communication and Community Outreach
- Insure effective and efficient procedures and processes are in place to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
- Represent SBS to various constituencies such as SBS auxiliaries, donors, and government agencies as required to promote the achievement of the organization’s mission.
- At the direction of the CEO, develop and maintain strong and effective community alliances with appropriate constituents such as city and county government officials, medical professionals, social service agencies, police, school administrators, community groups, associations, and businesses in support of the achievement of the organization’s mission.
- Assist the Director of Development and Communication, develop and execute public awareness campaigns to promote a positive community image, raise awareness of community need, and educate the community.
Program Services Development
- In collaboration with the DPPD, research new market opportunities, assist in the development of appropriate strategies, and ensure operational supports are in place to achieve the organization’s growth targets.
- Assist the CEO and DPPD to source, negotiate, and operationalize new programs and services.
- In collaboration with the DPPD, direct internal organizational changes and new initiatives in program development.
- Assist in grant proposal initiatives to ensure fit with strategic plans and adequate operational resource for achieving objectives.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a licensed LMFT, LCSW, or Psychologist.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience.
- Must have operational and programmatic experience managing a non-profit organization.
- Community Care Licensing (CCL) experience preferred.
- Experience with county contractor oversight and negotiation.

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS
