Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts, and supporting the overall materials management process. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills and have experience with inventory control systems. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring that materials are available when needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for quantity and quality accuracy and resolving any discrepancies with vendors.
- Coordinate the daily flow of inventory into the plant with respect to production schedule, purchasing, backorders, and spacing requirements.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
- Operate forklifts safely to move materials as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Data entry.
- Maintaining accurate transaction record in regard to production.
- Assist in the development of inventory management strategies to improve efficiency.
Experience
- Previous experience in inventory management & warehouse management software.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes & production planning.
- Experience with logistics and demand planning is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Skills in operating commercial and heavy-duty forklifts and various other warehouse equipment. Forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of production planning processes is desirable.
- Mathematical skills and basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook E-mail, Excel, other computer programs and general office equipment.
- Ability to lift, pull and push 25-50 lbs regularly and work in varying temperatures.
