STEAM- Technology Teacher K-5
Reports to: Principal
Job Objectives:
The duties and responsibilities of the STEAM Technology Teacher involve planning and implementing. The STEAM Technology Teacher is responsible for performing such other duties as the Principal may delegate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a valid State of Ohio teaching license appropriate for the assignment
- Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
- Provides documented evidence of a clear criminal record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong Knowledge of STEAM Subjects: Understanding of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art principles appropriate for K-5 students.
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Encourage students to think critically and develop innovative solutions to challenges.
- Hands-On Learning Facilitation: Implementing hands-on activities and experiments to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Adaptability: Adjust teaching strategies based on students' diverse learning needs and interests.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work effectively with other educators and staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
- Assessment and Evaluation Skills: Assess student progress and adapt instruction based on individual performance.
- Technology Proficiency: Utilize educational technology tools to support learning and enhance classroom experiences.
- Passion for Teaching: Demonstrate enthusiasm for STEAM subjects and inspire students to develop a love for learning.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement engaging STEAM lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning and prepare students for a digital world.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including projects, assessments, and observations.
- Foster a safe classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love for learning in STEAM subjects.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and promote STEAM education initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEAM education.
- Encourage students to explore real-world applications of STEAM concepts through field trips, guest speakers, and community projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to the following conditions may range from remote to frequent
based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
- Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens and communicable diseases.
- Interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals.
- Exposure to student commotion.
- Duties may require operating and/or riding in a vehicle.
- Duties may require considerable telephone contact and paperwork.
- Duties may require working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Duties may require working during the evening and/or weekend.
