In this role you will develop and maintain reliable accounting information on income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and capital as a basis for management planning and decision making and for fulfillment of financial reporting requirements. You will provide support for the Asset Liability Management (ALM) function, assist with budgeting and forecasting, as well as assisting with other special projects which may be required. Provide mutual aid to the accounting department as needed.

Salary: $23.38-$26.78
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Assists Controller with providing ALM software provider with quarterly downloads of general ledger, certificate, and loan information as well as statistical data for outsourcing updates.
Assist with the review, timely payment and record keeping of all bills submitted for payment.
Assist with the annual audit gathering of information and follow-up for the NCUA Examination, CPA independent audit and any other special audits as requested.
Assist with the annual budget process as requested by management. This responsibility includes the linking of expense projections, asset/liability forecasts, income estimates, and fixed asset additions into a comprehensive annual plan for the credit union.
Perform tasks necessary to balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Back up the CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager and other accounting personnel as needed.
Seek out and suggest opportunities to improve duties and tasks where appropriate.
Assist with training as needed.
Assist with any unusual out-of-balance situation that may arise.
Prepare any other reports or special projects requested by management and/or Board of Directors.
Provide friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates using the performance standards required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Above average computer skills, including spreadsheet applications.
Aptitude for figures and great attention to detail.
Good communication skills, written and verbal.
