Reporting: Sidney NY/ Hybrid ** Willingness to report in office as needed is required**
Salary: Exempt $70,678-$88,338
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Defines user requirements, develops, documents, and implements computer programs to enhance member and staff efficiency and experience in a variety of platforms.
Maintains and modifies existing personal computer applications written in a variety of software development applications including, but not limited to: Access, Excel, Corelation Keystone.
Analyze scope of work and project objectives on strategic/priority projects.
Perform peer code review in accordance with the credit union's and NCUA standards.
Apply communications, technical, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve employee issues.
Provides both technical and end-user documentation for any software developed and/or modified that originates from this position.
Provides technical assistance to internal staff.
Works as part of a team to develop processes that enhance the core systems' capabilities and provide updates as requested.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Required Skills:
- Hands on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a financial institution.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, MS SQL (SSIS) and IBM DB2. Experienced with Visual Studio, NetBeans and AIX
- Practical experience with modern software development frameworks
Other Skills:
- Familiar with PC systems, hardware and software.
- Ability to multi-task and meet project milestones/deadlines.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of credit union operations and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud
- Proficiency in automation tools and credit union specific data reporting solutions
