In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of membership records and data within Sidney Federal Credit Union (SFCU). This includes reviewing, monitoring, and correcting outputs generated by core SFCU operations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Customer Identification Program (CIP), and other applicable regulations. You will conduct quality control reviews related to consumer, mortgage, and home equity loans to verify adherence to internal policies, regulatory guidelines, underwriting standards, and requirements related to default and loss mitigation, as mandated by auditors and regulators. Additional responsibilities include performing audits and compliance-related reviews, evaluating file maintenance changes, and assessing products and services for quality assurance. The role also involves reviewing new and existing account documentation to ensure proper system setup in alignment with the Credit Union's BSA and CIP programs. You will identify potential risks and trends, prepare and present relevant reports to management, and support continuous improvement efforts across audit, compliance, and quality control functions.
Reporting: Hybrid with weekly reporting requirement to our Sidney NY office location
Compensation: $21.31-$23.97/hour
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Reviews new membership and account records/documentation to ensure proper eligibility, accurate documentation, and proper system setup in compliance with the Credit Union's BSA and CIP.
Perform branch and department reviews of loan/account documents, system records, and internal controls. Loan reviews include but not limited to the following: loan rates and due dates calculated properly, documents indexed correctly to the Credit Union's electronic document storage systems, policies/procedures followed, and proper signatures are present. Account reviews include but not limited to the following: correct eligibility, proper documentation/signatures obtained, documents indexed to the electronic document storage system correctly and ensure system setup in compliance with BSA and CIP Program.
Ensure the necessary documentation noting exceptions to policy and procedure is completed, including factors causing exceptions; makes corrections and recommendations to modify operations to reduce exceptions. Produces and provides operational and exception reports to management and other appropriate departments.
Prepare quality control, risk and/or compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, and produce accurate and reliable information for decision making.
Coordinate, monitor, and assist with compliance software tasks as assigned.
Stay abreast of all Credit Union, regulatory and state requirements. Test for accurate adherence to regulatory requirements. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Provide management reporting.
Works as an individual team member on special projects that support the improvement of service quality, member records and Credit Union data. These projects may include, but are not limited to quality control review processes, new products and services, changes in products and services and/or assistance with the development of new/current forms and reports.
Provides support to new account verification functions, offering decisions on accounts per branch request in compliance with the Credit Union's BSA and CIP.
Responsible for monitoring high risk changes to the loan records in the core system and ensuring these changes are completed by authorized personnel and, as appropriate, a paper trail is completed according to internal policies and procedures.
Identifies and makes necessary corrections to errors, omissions or incomplete records/data.
Perform quality control reviews on consumer, real estate loans, and credit card extensions of credit to ensure all paperwork is complete and products are set up correctly in the core processing system.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned including but not limited to conducting branch audits and attending branch meetings as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills:
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks. Efficiently operate related computer software (Keystone, Corelation, Optical and MeridianLink) and other business equipment.
Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must. Solid analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions to solve problems. Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; effective problem-solving skills with the ability to trace problems back to the root cause and identify necessary course of action for correction. Advanced research skills, interpret, and recognize data trends.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and cross-functionally; be self-motivated. Strong detail orientation skills, while being highly organized. Possess strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Demonstrate ability to manage and protect sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality.
