Posting Clerk/Billing &Claims Representative

Sidney Regional Medical Center is searching for a Posting Clerk/Billing & Claims Representative to join our team. This is a full-time Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assure Life assist accounts are set up to and are receiving statements according to established guidelines and processes.
• Submit Life assist statements to government agencies, and private payers: verify accuracy of all billing. Research and correct billing errors and late charges.
• Complete Long Term Care billing and follow up.
• Responds to patient and business office inquiries regarding coverage and charges. Contact patients and business office regarding delinquent accounts and maintain proper documentation of all account inquiries and correspondence.
• Create deposit accounts for Long Term Care & Sloan Estates Assisted Living Facility
• Posts all insurance checks, EFT payments, credit cards and check payments.
• Responsible for posting money timely, accurately and consistently in accordance with corresponding payer remits.
• Responsible for reconciling all posting daily and submitting to accounting for reconciliation.
• Responsible for researching & processing EFT & direct deposits, keeping banking account up to date and posted.
• Post rejected claims with accurate reason codes, according to remits.
• Post non-covered items, appropriately, ensuring these do not get posted as contractual.
• Scan all correspondence in regard to payments daily.
• Identifying credit balances created by posting daily on paper checks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of healthcare billing experience preferred
