The Avionics Quality Inspector is responsible for Quality Assurance inspections in support of fabrication, assembly, installation of cable harnesses, satellite assembly, and electronic assemblies.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
- Performs Quality Assurance inspections for fabrication, assembly, installation and test of wire and fiber cable harnesses and electronics components.
- Performs DWV/IR, continuity, and isolation testing in accordance with engineering documentation and specifications.
- Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical and/or electrical inspection utilizing standard documentation, procedures, and precision measuring devices to support final inspection.
- Accept/reject for conformance to standards and specifications.
- Verify compliance to applicable standards and other approved documentation.
- Inspection of completed assemblies as well as in process inspections as needed to accommodate all required engineering requirements.
- Perform inspections on flight and ground support equipment in a Class 8 clean room.
- Maintain files and records as required.
- Ensure satellite assembly techniques and requirements are incompliance with all engineering documentation.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external vendors as needed.
- Communicate closely with the Quality Manager and Avionics Manager to ensure the accurate documentation of non-conforming products, workmanship deficiencies, continual improvements, and corrective actions.
- Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures.
- Verify and compare all assembly documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.
- Other duties as assigned**
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in quality inspection of cable fabrication, assembly, and installation, or other relevant industry experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and cable lists.
- Familiarity with AS9100 Rev D standard
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

- Prior experience in satellite, flight, and ground support assembly and fabrication.
- Familiarity with IPC-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and J-STD-001.
- Cable-Eye or other PC based Hi-Pot testing and/or programming.
- Experience with integrating processes and procedures in a clean room environment.
- Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusion.
- Repetitive movement, long periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces.
- Ability to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
