Job Summary
The Swiss Screw Machinist is responsible for programming CNC Swiss turning centers. This position is Day Shift and expected to be 100% onsite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proficient in programming Dual Spindle with live tooling and programmable tail stock (STCNC) from drawings, PDF Files and/or 3D Models using SolidWorks, Mastercam, TSUGAMI, FANUC Controls.
- Proficient in set-up of (STCNC) including appropriate cutting tool selection.
- Proficient in running (STCNC) for the manufacture of Aerospace type parts, high production/high precision with close tolerances dimensions.
- Proficient in inspecting parts produced with inspection tools and instruments.
- Maintain a high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Must be self-motivated, organized and able to work in fast-paced environment with speed, accuracy and urgency.
- Possess strong analytical, organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a rapidly changing set of objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain flexible with working schedules, to include overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed is an essential requirement of the position
Required Skills
- Experience in set-up and troubleshooting of Manual and CNC lathe machines a plus
- Has machinist/inspection tools as applicable to position.
- Programming experience with CNC Swiss turning centers is a requirement for this position
- Machining/inspection experience of tight tolerance parts for the Defense and Aerospace industry
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma Required/ G.E.D Equivalent
- Three (3) years progressive experience in a manufacturing machining environment Experience in turning/milling Titanium, CRES, INCO; Hardened Alloy and Stainless Steels;
applicants with at least 10 years of experience may be considered for a Senior level role.
- Complete working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5)
- Proficiency in reading/understanding part manufacturing drawings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Travel Requirement
Able to travel <10% of the time
Shift/Schedule
This position is for the 1st shift generally working 7:00am to 3:30pm
