What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) Classroom Substitute 24-25 SY position at Sidwell Friends School?
Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks substitute teachers for the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), located on its Bethesda, MD campus. The ECLC is a small facility serving children of Sidwell Friends School faculty and staff. Currently, the Center has an infant room (up to 6 infants) and toddler/twos room (up to 9 students).
Responsibilities:
Ideally, the candidate will:
- Create a warm, loving and safe environment for mobile infants/toddlers
- Create an engaging atmosphere and develop meaningful activities and experiences for toddlers and twos
- Be able to interact and play with the children at their physical level
- Design activities that are child initiated, and cover physical, social/emotional, linguistic, and cognitive development
- Communicate with families
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize while working independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with all Family members.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Understanding computer system operations, specifically Outlook, Google, and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience (preferred)
- Must meet all State of Maryland requirements.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, flexibility, patience, and enthusiasm for working with students (Infants and Toddlers).
Compensation
- Hourly Rate $18.00-$24.00. Hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications.
