What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Nurse position at Sidwell Friends School?
Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school, seeks substitute on-call nurses to work "as needed" during the school day for the 2024-2025 school year. The substitute school nurse will provide first aid, administer medication, and maintain health records.
Strong candidates will have experience working with children in a healthcare setting and have a warm and welcoming personal demeanor. Dependability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills are required.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Washington, D.C. and Maryland
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of clinical pediatric nursing experience in the last 5 years
- Previous experience in public health or clinical setting, preferably in school nursing or in a community health setting servicing children
