About The Role
The Human Resources Director is responsible for managing the day to day to ensure the company is following all state laws, compliance, overseeing all aspects of wages, benefits, worker’s compensation, and unemployment. The Director is also responsible for recruiting efforts as well as employee relations.
Essential Functions
Leadership and Team Support:
• Lead and guide the HR team’s day to day, offering a collaborative environment and a positive work culture.
• Providing guidance on employee-related matters by closely working with department leaders.
• Foster leadership development and succession planning to build a pipeline of future leaders within the organization.
Compliance:
• Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all human resources and employee laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where we do business and ensure that each line of business is in compliance.
• Implement clear policies and procedures to make sure we follow federal, state, and local guidelines, and address any compliance issues to eliminate or minimize risks.
• Assist with and provide guidance with sensitive issues like EEO, unemployment, wage matters, worker’s compensation, OSHA, ADA, and immigration, and represent the company in hearings when necessary.
Employee Relations and Communication:
• Maintain an open-door policy to foster trust and transparency with employees.
• Communicate, interpret company policies, updates, and procedures to all employees and track completed acknowledgements.
• Assist with employee concerns, investigations, and disciplinary actions in conjunction with in-house legal, providing oversight on investigations and responding to inquiries from various federal and state agencies.
Recruitment and Retention:
• Oversee the recruitment process to ensure we bring in top talent, handling everything from screening to reference checks.
• Monitor turnover trends and work proactively to reduce unnecessary departures by implementing retention strategies. Contribute to the employee newsletter by sharing company updates and recognizing employee achievements.
• Collaborate in designing and running programs that celebrate and develop our team, ensuring key employees stay engaged and grow with the company.
Employee Benefits and Compensation:
• Manage and enhance our employee benefits programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our team.
• Assist with wage and salary programs, including performance evaluations, to ensure they are fair, competitive, and aligned with company goals.
Reporting and Record Keeping:
• Ensure accurate, timely updates of HRIS and department records, including organizational charts and employee directories.
• Regularly submit required reports and keep up with administrative tasks to maintain smooth operations.
Other Responsibilities:
• Take on additional duties as needed, always keeping the needs of the team and the company at the forefront.
Qualifications
• SHRM/SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience preferred.
• Multi-unit hospitality/restaurant experience in multi-state operation.
• Proven experience leading and managing a team of Human Resources professionals.
• Experience conducting employee interviews and managing investigations.
• Strong facilitation and training skills.
• A solid understanding of HR metrics such as turnover, time to hire, employee evaluations, etc.
• A strong understanding of state and federal employment law.
• Strong analytical and logical critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Proven history of ability to build and maintain relationships and consulting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Company standards.
