Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Protection Officer to join our security team. Are you someone who will walk toward what others choose to run from? A protection officer is a safety resource first and foremost. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, natural leadership, focus and the confidence to approach and handle risk. The ideal candidate also needs to be fit. We are looking for individuals that have a natural drive and resolve to put effort into themselves so they can show up and stand apart from the status quo. You must be well kept with a professional demeanor. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, premises and assets. This role requires a proactive approach to surveillance, conflict management, and emergency management. The Protection Officer will work closely with law enforcement when necessary and will be trained in first aid and CPR to respond effectively in emergencies.
We are looking to fill this role ASAP. Lots of hours to fill for the next few weeks - then reoccurring 12 hour shifts 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Hold a strong presence of security, protection and safety. You are the one that others are looking to in emergencies.
- Monitor surveillance systems and conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter and detect any suspicious/dangerous activities.
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, or emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve situations.
- Manage conflicts effectively, utilizing de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment.
- Conduct investigations into security breaches or incidents, documenting findings accurately.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required, ensuring the well-being of individuals on-site.
Experience
- Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is an asset.
- Skills in conflict management are beneficial.
- A background in militarized security operations may be advantageous.
Candidates who possess relevant certifications or training in surveillance systems, conflict management, first aid, law enforcement practices, CPR, or militarized security will be given priority consideration.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
