Craftsperson/Construction General Laborer

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead by example, promoting company values and ensuring safety for yourself and others.
• Work under the supervision of foreman and / or superintendent.
• Load, unload, and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools.
• Clean and lubricate machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Perform janitorial tasks to maintain a clean job site.
• Control traffic around work zones.
• Operate construction power tools, hand tools, and small equipment.
• Position, join, align, and seal structural components.
• Assist in concrete placement and form wrecking.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
• Have knowledge in civil carpentry, concrete finishing, or small equipment operation.
• Operate small heavy equipment safely.
• Use jackhammers and other power tools to break up concrete.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and adjustments.
• Assist in repairing machinery and building forms for concrete pouring.
• Mix and apply grout on structures.
• Comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Proficient in basic reading, writing, addition, and subtraction.
• Basic understanding of equipment and construction tasks.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
• Must pass controlled substance tests before and during employment.
• Physical ability to lift / carry 50-100 lbs., stand / walk for long periods, and perform tasks in extreme weather conditions.
• Experience : 3 years in heavy highway / civil or related construction.
• Completion of Siema Safety Orientation Course, Siema 60-day Orientation Course, LADOTD Certified Flagger training, Small tools training, Rigger Training, and Intro to Equipment training.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications :

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
