A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
Lead daily shift toolbox meeting, covering safety, quality, general announcements, and distribution of work. Schedule tasks for the employees to meet requested internal and external delivery dates. Provide project managers with required labor hours to perform inspection and repair scopes of work. Work alongside a team of shopfloor leadmen, engineers and project managers in the repair of critical turbomachinery equipment. Customers include oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities and hospitals.

- Manage daily schedules and follow up to ensure projects are progressing per the Production Schedule
- Schedule tasks for the employees to meet requested internal and external delivery dates
- Manage the communication between different departments
- Oversee shift change communication and scheduling of work as needed
- Approve shopfloor labor hours in MySPGI, ensure employees’ daily hours are charged to the proper project task
- Provide hours for shop scope of work as requested by project manager, project engineer, and quote specialist
- Positively direct employees to complete tasks efficiently and on-time, meeting quoted hours for the task
- Ensure employees understand work instructions clearly, including allowable timelines and completion targets
- Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and discipline as needed
- Develop the competencies of shop floor personnel and identify training requirements.
- Lead the safety culture in the shop and follow processes and procedures as defined by the HSE Department
- Dedication to maintaining quality service by enforcing Quality Stop Work standards and by reviewing quality escapes root causes with entire shopfloor personnel
- Maintain high degree of cooperation with Shop Leadmen, Service Center Manager, Repair Engineer and Project Managers at all times.
- Participate and lead (as requested) continuous improvement activities, including but not limited to safety and quality initiatives.
- Support Service Center Manager with hiring efforts, including interviews, shop tours, and skills assessments.
- Responsible for coordinating required service to upkeep shop machinery and equipment, including maintenance, tooling, calibration, and safety inspections, per company policies.
- Implement new ideas concerning methods, procedures, and changes in technologies.
- Take an active role in the overall Lean initiative.
- Promote and support good housekeeping, safety, productivity and quality. Promote "6S" by monitoring the overall cleanliness and organization of all shop areas.
- Ensure environmental/safety issues are managed according to legal requirements, company policy and procedures, and good work practices. Consult manager/safety department with questions relating to environmental/safety responsibilities.
- Place work orders on facility management portal for routine maintenance items.
- Collaborate, support, and supervise contractors and vendors performing facility maintenance work and special building projects. Show engagement and involvement on existing projects, and bring ideas for new projects.
- Safety is very important to our team – it is everyone’s duty to work safely, report any unsafe conditions, near misses, and suggestions for improvement to shop leadership immediately.
What You Bring (requirements)
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 5 years leadership experience
· Humble, teachable attitude
· Excellent communicator, honest, transparent, trustworthy
· Proficiency with MS Office, computers and tablets
· Mechanical Aptitude and knowledge of shop tools and equipment
· Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
