What are the responsibilities and job description for the Car Blocker - Packer 2nd Shift position at Siemens Energy?
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be preparing a full range of large and small products for shipment on a daily basis. Duties will include checking, marking, and recording various amounts of items that are being shipped, as well as securing product and subcomponents for shipment by rail, road, or truck, and protecting specified surfaces of shipments as required.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Checking orders for quantity and identity products being shipped.
- Lining boxes, wrapping, bagging, covering, or protecting surfaces.
- You will secure items being shipped with blocking, wrapping, banding, covering, or similar work as needed, installing bracing as required.
- Reporting discrepancies in materials or items to be shipped and using small hand tools, saws, nail guns, and other tools.
- Moving and aligning shipments on trucks to allow proper securement.
Secondary Duties
- These include keeping immediate work area clean and orderly, and operating lift truck, pallet jack, or similar equipment as required
- Any additional duties as required
What You Bring (requirements)
- Evidence of a completed High School Diploma, or GED is required.
- Thorough knowledge of shipping functions and related items.
- Basic carpentry skills with the ability to operate power tools and computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Ability to read sketches and measurements.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
