This Materials Engineer-Polymer role will be a technical consultant on polymer components for the TI CP business. Daily tasks will vary from; developing and implementing life cycle studies for existing polymer components, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, collaboration with existing and future suppliers of polymer compounds to increase the design capabilities and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges related to polymers.

This Materials Engineer-Polymer role will be a technical consultant on polymer components for the TI CP business. Daily tasks will vary from; developing and implementing life cycle studies for existing polymer components, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, collaboration with existing and future suppliers of polymer compounds to increase the design capabilities and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges related to polymers.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Provide technical support in fluorinated polymers (blending, sintering, and physical properties)
- Experience in post-service evaluation and failure analysis
- Guide engineers on material selection and simulation
- Act as primary technical contact for suppliers and customers on polymeric topics
- Support material testing by inspection, analysis, and reporting of post-test results
- Create and follow standardized procedures related to material selection and processing
- Bachelor of Science in either Material Science, Chemistry, or Engineering
- 5 years of experience in Material sciences field; Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Expertise with polymer materials solutions for reciprocating applications
- Practical knowledge testing polymers in wear systems to estimate component life
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with risk analysis, exceptional technical analysis skills to determine root cause of failure and provide feedback and recommendations
