A Snapshot of Your DayThis position will support the global salesorganization with bid support activities like review of specifications, issueof bid documents, technical clarification and costing input. In addition, thereduction and prevention of NCCs is a key target for this role.How You’ll Make an ImpactSupport Bid Management in preparing the technical andcommercial offer for Single Shaft and Integrally Geared Compressorinstallations with review of specifications, technical clarifications, costestimates and generating documents like general arrangement drawings, P&IDsor noise calculationsTechnical and commercial responsibility for Compressorpackages and installations including process and auxiliary piping, base platesor steel structures, heat exchangers, filtration systems, noise attenuationetc.Close interaction with the global Bid Managementorganization to develop the technical offer and align on the bid strategySpecification and inquiry of outside purchasedequipment, technical evaluation of vendor quotes and working on costoptimization measuresDeveloping the General Arrangement Drawing togetherwith the drafting teamParticipation in technical clarification meetings withcustomers or suppliers, either face-to-face or remoteImplement new developments into technical proposals,ensuring their technical feasibility by coordination with the globalengineering communityPrevent non-conformances by innovation, creativelyapplying lessons learned and implementing cost-effective solutions to proposalsFacilitate and improve the handover process from FrontEnd to Order EngineeringYour opportunities for personal growthWorking in a fast paced environment with alternatingtechnical challengesPossibility to establish and extend the professionalnetwork within Siemens Energy to global contacts within Engineering, Sales andProposals, SCM and Product LinesWhat You BringBachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent field preferred2 years of experience in Rotating Equipment or PlantDesign for Oil & Gas or other Process Industry applications from roles inProposals or Order Engineering. Those with more experience may be consideredfor a more senior level.Technical background for package components likepiping, valves, coupling guards, enclosures, filters & scrubbers and heatexchangers is highly preferredKnowledge in designing supporting steel structures andbase plates for rotating equipment and general understanding of structuralmechanics aspectsExperience in cost out initiatives and sales-orientedactivities, including technical discussions with customersExperience with industry standards, like API or NORSOK,as well as customer specifications and extracting the requirements for designadjustments and product costingProactive, flexible, self-motivating and open-mindedteam player with intercultural experience and continuous learning attitudeApplicants must be legally authorized for employment inthe United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored workauthorization.
