A Snapshot of Your Day
The Water Plant Supervisor shall be responsible for daily water plant operations. The WPS maintains overall responsibility for the efficient and economical operation of the ZLD, RO, demineralizer system, and all water treatment instrumentation. Responsible for training and qualifying for the position hired along with the following functions. Must adhere to plant safety, operation, and administrative programs and procedures.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform under the Operations Manager's direction all duties relating to the water treatment systems within the facility.
- Leads the water chemistry control program for all plant water systems. Ensures all systems are always maintained inappropriate chemistry control bands.
- Supervises facility laboratory, ensures that proper plant chemicals, reagent, lab equipment inventories are maintained
- Write and maintain all operating and maintenance procedures for water treatment systems, sampling and analytical equipment, and chemistry analysis.
- Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to operate, maintain and repair water plant equipment and ensure equipment is operated within acceptable parameters
- Diagnoses cause of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment. Repair, replace, dismantle and examine defective parts along with lubricating and cleaning parts.
Coordinates activities with the Plant Management team to support the achievement of plant targets. Assist the Maintenance Department in outage planning and execution. Provide training for new hires and top-tier operators on proper chemistry control, laboratory analysis techniques, water plant operation, and safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
Work shift may include rotating shifts, overtime, and irregular hours and be "on-call" as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. From time to time, the working hours will be determined on short notice based on plant requirements.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience with 5 years of full-time paid experience in thermal-electric generation equipment, including gas turbine prime movers. Military steam or gas turbine plant experience is acceptable.
- The applicant will possess practical experience with boiler water chemistry, HRSG's, cooling water systems, water purification equipment, including RO's, ION exchange, and ultra- filtration.
- The individual has direct experience with the operation and maintenance of a Zero Liquid Discharge Plant.
- The candidate will possess a working knowledge of the EPRI Comprehensive Cycle Chemistry
- Guidelines for Combined Cycle/Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs).
- Ability to work in a multitude of environments and settings, work may not always be performed indoors.
- Must be well versed in multiple computer operations and programs
