Organized, efficient and multifunctional. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication. Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
Duties:
Position Overview: (Major Functions and Non-Essential Functions):
Receives direction from Radiologists, supervisors and members of the Radiology management team. Works cooperatively with physicians, nurses, residents, support personnel, patients, co-workers and various health professionals throughout Mayo Clinic Enterprise. Nuclear medicine technologists prepare and administer radioactive isotopes producing high quality images for physicians to use in diagnosing disease and that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments. Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology. Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients. Fosters teamwork through effective communication. Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines. Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths. Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.
