Position Overview :

Siemens Mobility,Inc. is looking for an Operations Controller in the Production area for theCustomer Services Business Unit.

In this role, you will be the finance partnerfor the plant manager and be responsible for monitoring our productionactivities for Light rail business.

The Operations Controller will provide awide field of financial analysis and reporting for Service and Solution toinclude absorption reporting including cost accounting analysis, forecasting,labor rate calculations, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will also drive the digitalization ofreporting, analysis and planning of operations. This exciting and challengingposition is based in Lexington, North Carolina and will report directly to theOperations Finance Manager.

What your day-to-day will look like :

  • Provide and perform financial reporting and variance analysis forOperations Finance Manager (Forecasting, months end close, budget), thisincludes but not limited to : Validation that monthly financials areaccurate prior to closing in the system;
  • Interaction with operations team to derivemonthly closing commentary and variance drivers;Analysis of balance sheet data andforecasting of key positions;
  • Monitor labor bookings; absorptionreporting;Cost Accounting analysis and Cost CenterControlling;Align production schedule towardsforecasting;
  • Support month-end & ongoing reporting includingPUMA / Productivity, P&L, Balance Sheet, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX),Inventory, Reserves, Warranty, and Journal Entries.
  • Provide analysis on operations financials to drive improvement inthe organization to Operations Finance Manager and Plant Manager;
  • Drive implementation of digital solutions for the operations.
  • Perform account reconciliations for accounts in scope andparticipate in quarterly audit activities.Maintain and perform key controls in scope of closing and reconciliationactivities.
  • Perform historical and / or trend analysis on key businesscomponents;
  • Handle Ad hoc reporting for Operations Controller, Plant Manager,and other local management teams.
  • Act as an advisor that troubleshoots and resolves complex problemswithin multi-departments and / or cross-functional areas.

To thrive in this role, you have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting orBusiness-related field of study,
  • Understanding of factory / manufacturing processes, understanding of cost accounting and financialconcepts in a manufacturing set-up,
  • Experiencein Variance Analysis, Financial Reporting and Forecasting,
  • Provenleadership capabilities,
  • Good proficiency withMicrosoft Excel (e.g., V-lookups, Pivot tables etc.),
  • Goodunderstanding of Microsoft products (Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint),
  • Highdegree of critical thinking and very detail oriented,
  • Well demonstrated verbal andwritten communication skills, in particular in a manufacturing setting,
  • Abilityto transition from non-digital to digital solutions,
  • Understandingof ERP systems,
  • Self-motivatedindividual who requires and prefers little guidance from manager,
  • Setting you apart from others would be knowledge in digital toolslike Tableau, Knime, and Snowflake.Experience with SAP at an intermediate level and certifications in Agilemethods would be a plus.
