What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Worker - Summer Temporary - Siena College position at Siena College?
The Siena College Events Worker - Summer Temporary position is responsible for carrying out all assigned work from the Events & Moves Supervisor under the supervision of either Events & Moves Assistant Supervisor or Inventory Coordinator. Included with this direction, moving of items, furniture, boxes to support moves and large items to support the needs of all campus and off campus activities, programs and renovations. This position is expected to receive and understand direction either verbally or written, and will work in large groups or individually to complete assigned tasks.
1. Set-up Events- responsible for setting up rooms with tables, chairs, staging, etc. based on work orders given by the Events & Moves Supervisor, Asst Supervisor for Events & Moves, or through written/ verbal direction based on event resources or diagrams.
2. Move Offices - provide boxes & tape for preparation of office moves. When move is ready to follow instructions about where to move items given by Events Foreperson and/ or Events Crew Leader.
Equipment usage such as, but not limited to, moving vehicles, fork trucks, pallet jacks, large equipment moving items.
3. Dorm Work- during the school year, students are allowed to request items be removed or added to their room. It is the responsibility of the Events crew to do these jobs. During the summer, Events also reset all dorm rooms with the standard furniture students need to begin the year.
4. Provide assistance with moving items from place to place on campus, to the warehouse, or an off-site location based on work order.
5. Set up & operate AV equipment, sound systems, slide & video projectors, etc. as needed
6. Perform all duties in a professional and workman-like manner and in accordance with established Siena College and departmental policies and procedures. This includes the ability to function as part of our Conference Services team and consistently demonstrate sound communications and team work skills. Perform and assist with projects and renovations with other shops.
Lock & unlock meeting/event set up rooms & areas being always mindful that campus security is of the highest priority.
7. Perform all work in accordance with accepted safe work practices and attend all assigned safety training classes, obtain and maintain appropriate certifications.
8. Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls including after hour calls as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary: $16.52/hour - May 19, 2025 to August 29, 2025
Monday through Wednesday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and Thursday 7:00 am to 11:00 am - 2 positions available
Tuesday through Thursday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and Friday 7:00 am to 11:00 am - 2 positions available

Job Requirements:
A high school diploma, or the equivalent is required. A valid driver's license is required as is being able to be an insured driver while employed by the college.
A background screening will be required.
