IT Specialist Principal / Test Engineer

Sienna Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Specialist Principal / Test Engineer to support the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) of Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) programs for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies and contribute directly to the protection of vital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and upgrade HBSS modules, including Anti-Malware Scan Engine, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Security (ENS) for Windows and Linux, Policy Auditor (PA), and Trellix Agent.
• Administer and upgrade ACAS components, including Security Manager, Nessus Manager, and Nessus Network Monitor.
• Configure Red Hat Package Manager (RPM).
• Conduct independent testing of ESS and ACAS programs, ensuring adherence to security policies and configurations.
• Verify Test Readiness Review (TRR) checklists.
• Develop detailed Test Plans based on vendor release notes.
• Execute testing on new updates, functionalities, performance enhancements, and security bug fixes for ESS/ACAS modules.
• Independently troubleshoot issues and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed.
• Document limitations/deviations found during testing, along with mitigation plans.
• Create detailed test results, including screenshots, for Quick Look Test Reports submitted to the government.
• Deploy client packages to ESS endpoints via ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
• Perform ACAS scans.
• Install ACAS on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) using Linux commands.
• Perform updates on ACAS Security Manager, Nessus Manager, and Nessus Network Monitor.
• Transfer binaries using WINSCP for ACAS testing on specified VMs.
• Submit weekly activity reports to management.
• Cross-train other engineers on processes.
• Participate in briefings to government stakeholders.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
• Experience administering and upgrading HBSS and ACAS solutions.
• Proficiency in configuring Red Hat Package Manager (RPM).
• Strong understanding of security testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience developing and executing test plans.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Linux commands and scripting.
• Experience using ePO and WINSCP.
  
  

Salary: up tp $95,000

Job location: Fort Meade, MD (this is a hybrid role; candidate must live within 2 hours of Columbia, MD)
