Packaging Line Operator

Sierra Blanca Brewing Co., Inc. is a family owned and operated, small business in Moriarty, NM. We take pride in being one of New Mexico's oldest breweries garnering multiple awards for our brews and a wonderful following of craft beer fans. We started in a small facility in Carrizozo, NM in 1996 and have grown into a 12,000 square foot operation. We are located just 40 miles east of Albuquerque NM right off of Interstate 40. We have a full 1/2-acre beer garden featuring a horseshoe pit, ping pong table, bocci ball, tether ball, a beautiful gazebo right next to a little stream and pond, and BBQ grills as well! We have 20 taps with our own brews, and local NM wines. craft soda for the kids too!

We are a fast-paced brewery seeking applicants for our bottling line. Looking for self-starting, motivated, quick study individuals. The Packaging Line Operator assists with, and provides support to, all aspects of the bottling and packaging line, as necessary.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ability to perform manual duties in repetitive, ongoing manner at fast pace

Assist with packaging beers, including bottling.

· Daily and weekly cleaning to keep the brewery spotless

· Work with other operators to identify areas of required maintenance before equipment failure

· Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair brewery and packaging equipment related problems such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic

· Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other tools necessary to complete repairs

· Plan and communicate inventory needs for packaging

· Maintain inventory of bottles, labels and supplies

· Ensure proper and safe handling of chemicals

· Able to work on their feet for a whole shift

· Capable of following verbal and written Standard Operating Procedures

· Able to move heavy pallets with a pallet jack

· Comfortable working in an unairconditioned brewery

· Capable of strict attention to detail

· Able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

· Good agility and quick reaction time

· Able to work with a fast pace under pressure

· Help with miscellaneous brewery tasks including maintaining building and grounds and other projects as they come up.

· A positive attitude in a demanding repetitive production environment.

· Strong orientation towards quality control and safety.

· Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities while focusing on detail.

· Time management skills.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Applicant must be 21 or over to apply

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Clean driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently

· Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis

· Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments

· Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 60 lbs. and occasionally up to 170 lbs.

· Must be able to use a ladder, i.e., work at heights of 10 ’ above grade

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
