What are the responsibilities and job description for the PeopleSoft Technical Upgrade Specialist position at Sierra-Cedar?
(Alpharetta, Georgia) Identify, build, and apply PeopleSoft PUM application and tools patches; Plan, execute, and support PeopleTools major version upgrades; Reapply customizations in conjunction with application patches and tools patches and upgrades; Work across multiple modules; Perform patching and upgrades on multiple clients simultaneously; Provide expert troubleshooting for isolating and resolving technical/functional issues; Debug and code SQRs, PeopleCode, Application Engines, nVisions, and Queries; Work in multiple versions of PeopleSoft applications and PeopleTools; Configure, debug and support PeopleSoft applications in a multi-client remote support environment; Create, maintain, and manage project plans for PeopleTools Upgrade projects, including running project meetings with the customer and support teams; Work on all phases of a project – development, testing, production support, etc.; Multitask across clients and projects; Prioritize work to meet tight deadlines; Develop, design, and maintain process and procedure documentation consistent with Sierra-Cedar standards; Write clear, concise documentation; and, Communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of clients in a variety of circumstances.
Minimum of 7 years of PeopleSoft experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience (A) in these applications – Human Resources, Campus Solutions, Financials\Supply Chain; (B) in Customer Relationship Management and supporting multiple clients simultaneously; (C) Using PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) to create and apply change packages; and, (D) Performing PeopleTools Upgrades. Also required: hands-on working knowledge of PeopleSoft Change Assistant, Application Designer, Data Mover, Integration Broker, and Application Engine.
May live and work remotely anywhere in Southeastern U.S. (GA, TN, NC, SC, FL, AL). Position requires some travel (approximately 10% of time) to the headquarters in Alpharetta, GA and unidentified client sites throughout the US.
Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or Engineering, or other related field. A foreign equivalent degree is acceptable.
